Physical therapy can be costly and time-consuming. So, many patients opt for in-home exercise programs (HEPs), be it software or an app, to continue their therapy process on their own. While HEPs are convenient, they typically lack detailed guidance on how to accurately perform exercises, as well as posture feedback. This can impede patient progress and, worse, lead to further injury.
MOSI is a futuristic portable holographic projector equipped with motion sensors and thermal cameras to aid users who self-conduct physical therapy exercises. MOSI is also a smart device with AI incorporated into the software. The AI uses existing data from various physical therapists to analyze user workouts and track progress. MOSI projects a holographic image of an avatar that has touchpoints on major joints of the body. Users align their bodies with the avatar’s touchpoints to achieve perfect posture. Two cameras track the body in real time using motion sensors. Cameras also include thermal imaging to scan the body for fatigued muscles or anomalies and alter the exercises accordingly to reduce risk.
