Beyond Boundaries

Type III: Expression explores typography in digital spaces. The final project was developed in two parts: first, students were asked to translate an audio work, such as a speech or a podcast, to a typographic poster. Then, students introduced an element of time, dimension, and/or kineticism to their typographic posters. They were also asked to investigate a tool they were not previously familiar with, and to document their experiences through writing. The projects incorporate elements of augmented reality and motion graphics, and move fluidly between 2D and 3D.
