The Price of Forever is Death

For my final project in Typography I decided to focus on movement through textures interacting with light. I started my process by choosing an audio from my favorite movie series Twilight. I selected a series of quotes, one from every movie, from Bella’a monologues. I explore typefaces to use for a poster with a theme of life and death as well as rebirth in mind. From exploring different typefaces I couldn’t find the right fit. I ended up creating my own typeface through this process. I decided to go with blood pools and splatter along with blood flowing over an object. Deciding on a more gory, I was skeptical it would turn out how I wanted because Twilight is about loving someone forever. I wanted to explore the dark side of the film. That the price of forever is death. Along with the film being about vampires and they do drink blood. I then picked certain quotes from the monologues placing them in the blood. The quotes talk about dying and rebirth and I thought putting them in the blood would be impactful.
