Empathy
Our individual experiences are what make us, us. We all have our own unique story, something special to share. It is our uniqueness that connects us, makes us part of the collective whole. Our story is one within myriad stories that unite us. Separate as individuals, we stand as one. We all have a need to connect our individual stories with others. Empathy makes this possible. This project is an exercise in oneness. It is a collection of handwritten notes that describe and define empathy. They were collected from the people who surround me in daily life. Every explanation is different, no card is written the same. Each brings a new perspective to the word. Collectively they compose the word empathy; together they stand as one.
