Yuno
Given the number of user-oriented communication platforms that exist today, and given the much welcome changes in the realm of gender identity, it is important to ask: Is the visual and verbal language used on some of these platforms still relevant? Is it inclusive? Does it square with today’s progressive social standards? When it comes to digital applications designed for menstrual and holistic health, the answer is decisively ‘no.’ Research shows that old terminology, outdated and uninviting aesthetics fail to include other communities outside of the gender binary. As a designer who focuses on user-experience, Yuno is an inclusive research-based mobile application that supports holistic education and fosters a safe online community for all people who menstruate under the guise of menstrual health tracking.
