What Planet Are You From?
Failure to be understood, failure to understand; it can get messy. Miscommunication is not uncommon: expressions taken out of context, cultural differences, failure to clarify, mis-heard conversation, or mis-read texts. Interpersonal relationships are difficult enough. Misaligned semantics can make matters much worse. People can feel like they’re from different planets. Clarity is a fundamental attribute of visual communication. As a designer, I find myself drawn to the bizarre, the uncanny. What Planet Are You From? explores the consequence of miscommunication in purely graphic terms.
